Rest day in East Jindabyne: long sleep, hot baths, home-cooked food, drying gear, and sharing warmth, wine and downtime with Jane.
East Jindabyne (0km) | TOTAL – 247.9km
I awoke in the huge king-size bed, with Jane at my side. It felt incredible to be so warm and comfortable with my love.
After watching some morning telly in bed, we headed to the dining area next door for a continental breakfast. Honey on toast never tasted so dam good!
After brekky, I had another bath while Jane washed my smelly 11-day old clothes.
I then got to work, sorting through my third ‘food drop’, drying out my tent and quilt and reviewing my plans for the coming week, while Jane hitched the car and caravan (to aid our early start the next day).
The feast continued with a bacon and egg sandwich for lunch, and an absolutely exquisite lamb roast for dinner.
In the evening, we lay in each other’s arms, watching the telly and enjoying our closeness.
